JULY 2026 - Descendants the Musical
in collaboration with Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts
In July 2026, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy partnered with Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts to present Descendants the Musical at the Mahaffey Theater as part of the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Summer Camp Program. Featuring a cast of talented young performers from across Pinellas County, the production showcased the students’ vocal, acting, and dance skills in a fully staged musical experience. The performance engaged school audiences and families alike, continuing our mission of bringing high-quality youth theatre to one of Tampa Bay’s premier stages.

In July 2025, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy partnered with Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts to present Legally Blonde the Musical Jr. at the Mahaffey Theater as part of the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Summer Camp Program. Featuring a cast of talented young performers from across Pinellas County, the production showcased the students’ vocal, acting, and dance skills in a fully staged musical experience. MAY 2025 - Junie B. Jones Jr.
Class Acts Performance at the Mahaffey Theater | St. Petersburg
In May of 2025, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy presented Junie B. Jones the Musical at the Mahaffey Theater through the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts Class Acts Series. With a vibrant cast of young performers, the production brought Barbara Park’s beloved character to life in a high-energy, family-friendly performance. The show combined humor, music, and heart, allowing students to shine on a professional stage while engaging school audiences in the joy of live theatre

FEB 2025 - Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical
Class Acts Performance at the Mahaffey Theater | St. Petersburg
In February 2025, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy performed Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical at the Mahaffey Theater in partnership with the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Series. Inspired by the Little Rock Nine, this uplifting and important story used music and humor to explore themes of diversity, acceptance, and inclusion. Performed by Sears Studio’s talented young cast, the production offered school audiences a meaningful and entertaining experience, highlighting the power of theatre to spark dialogue and inspire empathy.
OCT 2024 - Goosebumps the Musical
Class Acts Performance at the Mahaffey Theater | St. Petersburg
In October 2024, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy staged Goosebumps the Musical: Phantom of the Auditorium at Smead Hall in Lake Seminole Presbyterian Church. The show ran on October 31 at 6:00 PM, followed by a November 1 performance at 7:30 PM, and included a festive Trunk-or-Treat event on October 31. As well as a Class Acts performance on the Mahaffey Theater stage, sponsored by the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts.

In July 2023, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy helped start the first ever Summer Camp presented at the Mahaffey Theater. Whiled partnered with the Mahaffey Summer Camp to present Seussical Jr. at the Mahaffey Theater as part of the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Series. Featuring a cast of talented young performers from across Pinellas County, the production showcased the students’ vocal, acting, and dance skills in a fully staged musical experience. The performance engaged school audiences and families alike, continuing our mission of bringing high-quality youth theatre to one of Tampa Bay’s premier stages. This was the first summer camp run by the program.
