Little Mermaid
In July 2024, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy partnered with the Mahaffey Summer Camp to present The Little Mermaid at the Mahaffey Theater as part of the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Series. Featuring a cast of talented young performers from across Pinellas County, the production showcased the students’ vocal, acting, and dance skills in a fully staged musical experience. The performance engaged school audiences and families alike, continuing our mission of bringing high-quality youth theatre to one of Tampa Bay’s premier stages.
In May of 2025, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy presented Junie B. Jones the Musical at the Mahaffey Theater through the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Series. With a vibrant cast of young performers, the production brought Barbara Park’s beloved character to life in a high-energy, family-friendly performance. The show combined humor, music, and heart, allowing students to shine on a professional stage while engaging school audiences in the joy of live theatre
In February 2025, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy performed Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical at the Mahaffey Theater in partnership with the Bill Edwards Foundation’s Class Acts Series. Inspired by the Little Rock Nine, this uplifting and important story used music and humor to explore themes of diversity, acceptance, and inclusion. Performed by Sears Studio’s talented young cast, the production offered school audiences a meaningful and entertaining experience, highlighting the power of theatre to spark dialogue and inspire empathy.
In October 2024, Sears Studio Performing Arts Academy staged Goosebumps the Musical: Phantom of the Auditorium at Smead Hall in Lake Seminole Presbyterian Church. The show ran on October 31 at 6:00 PM, followed by a November 1 performance at 7:30 PM, and included a festive Trunk-or-Treat event on October 31.
